Before you apply, make sure you meet the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification requirements:

Path A: Degree Holders

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Minimum 48 months/4 years of Responsible-In-Charge (RIC) experience in construction management within the past five years
  • Completed Construction Manager-in-Training (CMIT) or relevant construction management education/training (strongly recommended)

Path B: Non-Degree Holders

  • High school diploma or associate degree
  • Minimum 96 months/8 years of Responsible-In-Charge (RIC) experience in construction management within the past fifteen years
  • Completed Construction Management education/training or equivalent field experience (strongly recommended)

Maintaining your CCM certification

Earning your CCM certification is a major professional milestone—keeping it active ensures you remain current with industry best practices. Certified Construction Managers are required to renew their certification every 3 years by earning 25 Professional Development Units (PDUs) and submitting a renewal application.
