Eligibility Requirements

Set A (CSM)

  • Open to all educational backgrounds
  • Completion of a 2-day Certified Scrum Master® training course
  • Pass the Scrum Alliance CSM exam

Set B (Advanced CSM)

  • Active Certified Scrum Master® certification
  • At least 12 months of Scrum Master experience within the past 5 years
  • Completion of an Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM®) training

Set C (Certified Scrum Professional)

  • Active Advanced Certified Scrum Master® certification
  • At least 24 months of Scrum Master experience within the past 5 years
  • Completion of Certified Scrum Professional® training and successful evaluation

Maintaining your Scrum Master Certification

To maintain your Scrum certification, you must earn Scrum Education Units (SEUs) through learning, teaching, and community involvement.

  • CSM requires renewal every 2 years with 20 SEUs
  • A-CSM requires 30 SEUs
  • CSP-SM requires 40 SEUs
  • Engage in continuous learning, coaching, and knowledge sharing
