Eligibility Requirements

Set A (CSM)

Open to all educational backgrounds
Completion of a 2-day Certified Scrum Master® training course
Pass the Scrum Alliance CSM exam

Set B (Advanced CSM)

Active Certified Scrum Master® certification
At least 12 months of Scrum Master experience within the past 5 years
Completion of an Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM®) training

Set C (Certified Scrum Professional)

Active Advanced Certified Scrum Master® certification
At least 24 months of Scrum Master experience within the past 5 years
Completion of Certified Scrum Professional® training and successful evaluation

Maintaining your Scrum Master Certification

To maintain your Scrum certification, you must earn Scrum Education Units (SEUs) through learning, teaching, and community involvement.

CSM requires renewal every 2 years with 20 SEUs
A-CSM requires 30 SEUs
CSP-SM requires 40 SEUs
Engage in continuous learning, coaching, and knowledge sharing
